Last day of the Blimey Cow photo challenge. It’s a good thing I do a year-round photo challenge in collaboration with this one. It’s been an interesting month, but now it’s back to basics.
Day 181 (Friday, June 29)
Summer of Blimey Cow Day #29: “Best Song Ever”
I had to think really hard for this one. There are so many great songs to choose from. It eventually came between “Fix You” and this song. “Fix You” holds a special place in my heart as the first song my glee club sang that I actually liked. But this song means so much more to me. It’s not because of the lyrics or the fact that it’s Coldplay (because Coldplay is pretty awesome). It’s because the song acts as sort of a safety net for me. I know that whenever I have to perform, I can always count on playing this song. As a piano player who relies heavily on chords, it’s nice to know that I can pull this song together in about 2 seconds even if I’ve had no preparation time. It’s a song that I can always fall back on.

Summer of Blimey Cow Day #27: “A Favorite Quote”
Now here’s where I get cliche; My mom got me this. I’ve kept it in every music binder I’ve used throughout the years. It’s called the “Musician’s Prayer”. Its text is as follows:
Lord please bless my music that it might glorify Your name.
May using it to serve You always be my aim.
Let it be a witness to Your majesty and love
And remind us that You’re watching from Your throne above.
May others see Your beauty in every note they hear
And when they hear my music, may they feel Your presence near.
Oh Lord, I pray for guidance in everything I do,
And pray You’ll make my music an instrument for You.

Summer of Blimey Cow Day #24: “Your Best Friend”
This is an old photo (as evidenced by my lack of beard), but still relevant. She is my closest friend. We’ve known each other for over a decade; since daycare days (she chooses not to relive). Of all the photos we’ve ever taken together, this one is one of my favorites. (Although, there is one other in particular she’d probably pick instead of this one)

Yep, this is all I sleep in. Also, we threw a surprise party for my dad today, but it didn’t tie into today’s theme.

Summer of Blimey Cow Day #22: “Your Favorite Superhero (a.k.a. Batman Pikachu)”
I don’t know if this counts, but I’d consider Pikachu my favorite superhero. He’s got powers, he defeats the villains and saves the day constantly. So why wouldn’t he be considered a superhero? Is it because he’s not human? Superman isn’t human and neither is Thor for that matter. I don’t care what anyone else thinks. Pikachu is a superhero.

Summer of Blimey Cow Day #21: “Something You NEED”
Music. Actually, I believe the world as a whole needs art in general. The greater majority of society looks down on artists and they simply can’t see just how valuable we really are. We’re the reason the world can laugh, cry, love, remember precious moments, actually feel things, study different cultures, live life without the fear of normality, look beyond the standard and achieve otherwise impossible goals. We, as artists, contribute so much to the society that looks down upon us and believes that we are “useless”. Our greatest contribution: we make the world beautiful.
